I got a watch from one of my friends. It’s a very eccentric analogue watch that is handcrafted in Japan. It has a brass case and bezel. It is a wind up. It has a transparent dial and back, so the movement is visible. You can see the wheels spinning as time goes by. It reminds me of steampunk. Steampunk is a subgenre of science fiction. It’s a mix of future technology and old design and technology. For example steam trains that hover and cowboys who have laser guns.
The only other interesting watch I have is a limited edition blue G-Shock that has 5 classic rock songs as alarms. I woke up to classic rock every morning. It is fully digital, has a calendar and a stopwatch. I had a habit of timing everything. I timed how long it took to get from my home to school. It is also very tough. I used to throw it on my desk when I got home.
Most people wear the same kind of watch. I think it’s nice to wear something a little unusual that doesn’t stand out too much. Watches are a good way of expressing yourself without going over the top. Although there will always be trends and new technology, I think that watches are timeless.
