Tyler's Tips: Practice English #1

Feel like you are in a rut? Need some new opportunities to use English in your life? If so, here is an idea for practicing English in Japan.

Go to a foreign restaurant or bar. Downtown Osaka, especially the Namba area, has many foreign owned establishments. The staff are bilingual and the clientele is a mixture of Japanese and non-Japanese. Challenge yourself by ordering in English and chatting with a foreign stranger. You might even make a new friend that you can practice English with. For some names of businesses that fit this description, check out the advertisements in Kansai Scene magazine.
