Or...are you bored? Which one?
Are you scary? Or are you scared? Which one?
Watch out when using adjectives!
If you are scared, you feel frightened or worried, and perhaps nervous. But what is the cause of that?
Perhaps a film? So...because the film is sca -ry, you are scar- ed.
Hint: We sometimes use the past participle (過去分詞) form of adjectives when describing how we feel/felt:
- I'm thrilled
- I'm amazed
But we usually use the present participle (現在分詞) when ascribing the cause of that feeling:
- The ride was thrilling
- The film was amazing
Of course, English isn't simple so there are irregular things to watch out for, like:
- The film was scary (not a present participle form)
