Saturday Teacher: Benjamin

G’day everyone.  I’m the new Aussie Ben and I’m looking forward to meeting all of you, or indeed seeing some of you again, on Saturdays in Senrioka. My Japanese adventure has lasted for over 13 years now, all in Osaka, and I don’t think it will stop any time soon.  I’ve done a bit of travelling around Japan and the world since I came here, but my favourite place anywhere in the world is definitely at home with my wife and daughter.

My background is in accounting, taxation and auditing, but I’ve been working as an English instructor in Japan ever since I arrived back in November 2003, and I still really enjoy it.

Other than spending time with my family, I’m also really into watching sports and documentaries.  Although, with a nearly 4-year-old daughter, these days I mostly watch Disney cartoons.  Still, I like to keep an eye on sports scores from around the world, such as Major League Baseball, English Premier League soccer, cricket, rugby, and so on, and I spend a fair bit of time catching up on the news on the internet when I can.  However, I must admit that I’m not a big fan of shopping at all.

I like talking about a range of topics – everything from sports to history, and accounting to travel.  But I also really enjoy listening, so I’m looking forward to hearing what all of you have to say about whatever you would like to talk about.

Anyway, that’s just about enough about me, I reckon.  Take it easy, and I hope you all continue to enjoy studying English at Sunrises.
