Watch vs. See vs. Look

There has been some confusion recently about which one should be used so I hope I can clear it up for you.

We use watch for things that are moving or events where people are doing things.

  • I will watch a baseball game at Koshien stadium this weekend.

  • watched 'ItteQ'  on TV last Sunday.

We use see when we are talking about the sense of sight.  When we can naturally have vision of something.

  • I can see the ocean from my room and it's beautiful.

  • Can you see the ocean from your room?

We use look when we are talking about paying attention to what we see.  We look at something intentionally.

  • I will look at your work in a minute.

  • Can you look at this paperwork and tell me if it's correct?

I hope this helps!
