How did you first feel about the morning rush on trains in Japan?

日本に通勤ラッシュについてどう感じた?

Canadian Teacher:

I was terrified that I would either get crushed, or not be able to get off at my stop. And I didn't know how to politely ask the people around me to move so that I could get by them.

American Teacher:

I thought it was crazy and I thought I was going to die! Especially since we don't have trains in Hawaii I had never experienced being in such close quarters with people.

British Teacher:

I had seen pictures and videos of the morning rush before coming to Japan, so I wasn’t surprised when I saw it for the first time. When I experienced it it was not nice to be pressed against other passengers. In Manchester we don’t have the same subway/train system. Some people use the train but most people use cars and, so the roads are sometimes busy in the morning.
