Is it true that job hunting in the US is different than in Japan? What is it like?
Yes, looking for a job in the U.S. is a lot different than in Japan. The first big difference is that we do not go job hunting in a black suit, with many other students. Nowadays, they have job fairs where many different companies go and you can visit their booths and ask them questions.
The next biggest difference is that we are not offered a job until after we graduate from the university unless you are a genius or rocket scientist. It is amazing to me that university students already have a job offer and contract lined up for them before they even graduate.
